Prohibition on ADS-B–Based Fees
We, the undersigned, respectfully express our support for legislation prohibiting the use of Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B) system data to calculate, generate, or collect fees from aircraft owners or operators while operating in Arizona.
ADS-B is a federally mandated aviation safety system intended to improve situational awareness and air traffic safety, not to be used as a taxation tool. Pilots invested significant resources to comply with this mandate with the understanding that ADS-B data would be used for safety purposes and not as a billing scheme. This bill:
